Common questions
Getting recipes in
From a website or another app, use the share sheet and pick Cook:RE. For a cookbook or a card, photograph the page from the app. Flat lighting and the whole recipe in frame give the best result.
Scaling and units
Scaling works per ingredient rather than by one blanket multiplier. Switch a recipe between cups and spoons, ounces, or grams from the recipe screen. If a weight looks wrong for your ingredient, edit it and the app will use your number.
Timers
Times written into a step become timers with one tap. They run on your lock screen and need notification permission to alert you when the app is in the background.
Backups
Your library lives on your device and is included in your iCloud device backup. The app can also export your whole library to a file you keep yourself.
